Over the past few days, I have been reading through some of the books of Ḥakīm al-Ummah Mawlānā Ashraf ʿAlī Thānawī (d. 1362/1943) in pursuit of his stance on a particular issue. Mawlānā Ashraf ʿAlī Thānawī was one of the most distinguished scholars of the recent past who authored eight hundred works (Nuzhat al-Khawāṭir, 8:1187) on a range of topics.

The following document in Arabic and Urdu answers the following queries received from Mufti Nasiruddin of Mazahirul Uloom Saharanpur:
- Is there a ḥadīth with this meaning: Islam’s honour in the early period is poverty and towards the end of time richness and wealth?
- Is this a ḥadīth “Poverty is my pride”? What is its status?
- Was a companion squeezed in the grave simply because he was not careful regarding urine drops?
- Please outline some books that feature the profiles of Ḥanafī scholars.
